[ Democrats by the Numbers ]

There has been a lot of talk about Hillary picking up the big states, but we can count on big states like California going Democrat just as big states like Texas will go Republican.

So why even talk about them?

What matters are the 13 battleground states and according to the current polls, Obama wins or comes close to winning 8 of these states for 73 electoral votes. Clinton, on the other hand, wins or comes close to winning only 2 of these states for 48 electoral votes.

Unfortunately, in both cases, McCain wins the election.
