[ Sigur Ros ]

If you are unfamiliar with the trance-inducing melodies of Icelandic ambient band, Sigur Ros, you should be. Their songs step lightly, finely tuned between the narrow frequencies of nostalgia and optimism. They ease and swell, building until their usually joyous climax. My buddy saw them at the Hollywood Bowl on 'shrooms and he said it was like staring into the face of God.
