[ Free Radical ]

Dear NPR,

I was listening to your program the other day about yet, another Iraqi bombing and on several occasions, the reporter used the word radical to describe the perpetrators. At first it didn't bother me, but it soon became increasingly clear that journalists should not use this politically-charged word.

Don't get me wrong, there is little doubt that one must be radical in order to get into the suicide bombing business, but such is a value judgment you should leave for your listeners. In the future, please be weary of swallowing and regurgitating Bush rhetoric so thoughtlessly...
