I know we are well into 2008, but with the Oscars nigh, I thought I'd weigh in:

1. Black Snake Moan - The sexiest, most original film of the year.
2. Into the Wild - Beautiful. Breathtaking. Devastating.
3. 3:10 to Yuma - Totally thrilling. Awesome action sequences.
4. American Gangster - Frenetic. Incredibly well-written.
5. Hairspray - So fun! Saw it 3 times.
6. Sweeney Todd - Beautiful. Grotesque. Vivid.
7. 28 Weeks Later - Horrifying. Political. As good as the original.
8. Charlie Wilson's War - Sorkin at his best.
9. Superbad - Hilarious. Bring weed.
10. Bourne Ultimatum - Furious fight sequences.
