[ MoveOn McCain ]

MoveOn.org has produced a list of the 10 Things Independents Should Know About McCain. There are several democratic standards - he thinks Roe v. Wade should be overturned, for instance - but there are many things about his record that really surprised me. Among them:

1. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year.

2. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children.

3. McCain actually voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.
