[ Obama Wins Again ]

It was raining in LA last night and as I drove along the 101, I listened to Obama's Victory Speech on NPR. It was absolutely riveting.

It's a gift to feel inspired again. It's a gift to see diversity in this campaign. It's a gift that this country has finally swung away from neoconservatism. It took eight goddamn years, but when most Americans don't even read the newspaper it's hard to get the word out.

We have to savor this election cycle because we may never see anything like it and when Barack Obama becomes president, we'll have savor that too.

I can't even tell you how excited I was to see Obama with South Carolina, even from across the Atlantic. The excitement has been building in me for so long and it's scary to want this so badly that if he doesn't get the nomination I may just feel the crushing sense of inner pain that accompanied the 2004 travesty....I can't go through that again!

But, anyways, just a note to say that I love your blog and I miss even the 100 words or less of you that it showcases. Remember that play I kept trying to work out but couldn't? it's been over 2 years since the idea first came into my mind and I'm finally re-envisioning as a short story - if I can get it done by Mid February, which is the goal, for my short story class then I'll be sure to send it your way. It wouldn't even have gotten this far in my mind without you!

lots of love,
Maren
