I'm in the middle McCarthy's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel right now and it's devastating me. If you haven't heard the good word, it's a post-apocalyptic story about a father trying to walk his little boy South for the winter. If they don't, they'll freeze to death.
But they'll probably die any way, because America's been burned. There's no food. No clean air. No hope. The ashy air chokes them. Cannibals hunt them.
If you feel like losing your faith in humanity, definitely check it out. It's the most beautiful, heart-wrenching thing I've read in a really long time.
